Where does the money go?

A breakdown of the costs associated with the Amistad visit and related educational events.

June, 2003

$75,000: To be raised by the Massachusetts Conference and paid to AMISTAD America, Inc. Includes: crew and officer salaries & benefits, food, fuel, vessel maintenance, staff travel, brochures and educational materials, exhibit design, training of educators and volunteers, on-board communications, support staff. Payment due dates: $15,000, April 14; $35,000, June 14; $25,000, Sept. 14.
pie chart $15,000: to be raised by the Massachusetts Conference for UCC Amistad Day on Oct. 25th. Includes: Moakley courthouse rental, equipment, security, storytellers, musicians, dancers, worship leaders, publicity materials.
$340,000: To be raised by Host Committee from corporate and individual sponsors for public events and curriculum distribution. Includes: publications, educational materials, honoraria for speakers, reenactors, musicians, equipment rental, education consultants, security, insurance, volunteer services.
