Preparing for the Search and Call Process in the United Church of Christ

This series of events are for those seminarians who are middlers or seniors and are designed to provide valuable information for navigating the entire Search & Call process within the United Church of Christ  no matter what Association/Conference you are In Discernment with or where you will be circulating your Profile.
 
All Events will be held at The Congregational Church of Weston, 130 Newton Street, Weston, MA 02493-2315
  • November 2, 2012: Entering the Search Process: Preparing Your Ministerial Profile
    8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
    The Discernment Process and the Search Process; Writing a Ministerial Profile to get an interview; Navigating the UCC Search and Call Network
     
  • February 1, 2013: Meeting with Search Committees: Discerning a Match
    8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
    Spiritual Discernment and the Search Process; Reading a Church Profile;Interviewing Skills: How to Answer & What to Ask
     
  • March 1, 2013: Getting a Good Start
    8:30 AM – 3:30 PM*
    The Pastoral Life as a Good Life; Pastoral Authority in the United Church of Christ; Developing Healthy Habits and Practices of Ministry
    *Please note longer time frame
     
  • April 5, 2013: Starting your Benefits - Establishing Your Future: UCC Benefits and the Pastoral Call Agreement
    8:30 AM - 12:30 PM
    Elements of a Pastoral Call Agreement; UCC Health and Pension Benefits; Continuing Education and Ongoing Pastoral Formation

 $25 per event or $100 for the series. This includes breakfast all events, lunch in March, and all materials. Limited scholarship assistance is available – email
