RACE IN AMERICA:Barack Obama’s Speech On Race As ALens For America’s Political Agenda
With Don Shriver and Panel Chaired by Ed Rodman Washburn Hall, Episcopal Divinity School April 28, Monday Evening: 7 – 9 PM Donald Shriver, President Emeritus at Union Theological Seminary in New York City, is well known for his work on reconciliation and his great 1995 opus An Ethic for Enemies: Forgiveness in Politics. He will be in Boston to discuss his more recent volume, Honest Patriots: Loving a Country Enough to Remember its Misdeeds (Oxford University Press, 2005), with its pressing question: Does the USA Need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission?
Ed Rodman, Professor of Pastoral Theology and Urban Ministry, Episcopal Divinity School, has a long record of proactive civil rights work with civic and religious groups.
