WAYS - WORKDAYS FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH IN SERVICEIn Conjunction with the MACUCC 208 th Annual MeetingSaturday, September 29, 2007
By downloading the information packet at right, please find information on the WAYS workday coming up on September 29, 2007. Groups will be assisting with maintenance and repairs at Camp Putnam Fresh Air Camp in New Braintree (www.campputnam.org); working with Ed’s Place in Oakham – transitional housing for men moving from homelessness; brightening up the vistas of Aids Project Worcester – a full service agency serving AIDS/HIV patients and their families (www.aidsprojectworcester.org) and Pernet Family Health Services of Worcester (www.pernetfamilyhealth.org). If you're part of a group, your group will be assigned to one or more of theses sites based on skills and the size of the group. For Participants of the 208th MACUCC Annual Meeting, your day will go from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm . We are finishing up our work a little earlier than usual on this day so all participants will have the opportunity to clean up and get back to Wesley Methodist Church in Worcester for closing worship and the installation of our Minister and President. We need skilled and unskilled adults and youth willing to put in one hard day of work. The packet linked at right includes a copy of our application, and information for you, youth participants and their parents. Feel free to photocopy any of these documents if needed. All youth advisors/leaders must submit the requested information for a MACUCC CORI background check. We do hope you will publicize this event in your congregation. We welcome skilled and unskilled adults and youth to join us for this exciting day which will focus on service agencies bringing resources and hope to the people of Greater Worcester. The registration fee is $10. It is important to know the skill levels of you or your group. On the “CHECKLIST” there is a list of a number of ways your congregation can help in this exciting event. If you have any questions, or if you have volunteers interested in helping with the preparation of the event, please contact Shantia Wright-Gray by phone or email. Thank you for your time and consideration! Shalom, Shantia The Rev. N. Shantia Wright-Gray The Rev. Robert S. Bachelder |
